Esperanza Torres Principal Consultant at Measure To Evolve
Esperanza is the founder of Measure to Evolve a social researcher, evaluator, and strategist with a deep commitment to equity and impact.
She began her career in social research, working on projects that explored paid parental leave, unpaid work, positive ageing, and disability. From there, she moved into the Victorian and then Federal public service, where she delivered research and evaluation projects — many with a strong focus on disability access, inclusive education, and policy change.
Over the years, Esperanza has contributed to research on disability and human rights, developed tools to support the active implementation of Disability Action Plans in healthcare settings, and led legislative reform and advocacy initiatives. Her work is grounded in a passion for social justice and a belief in the power of evidence to drive change. She has delivered a number of change projects including exploring the barriers to legal access for migrant women at risk of family violence, improving information security in government, and the promotion women’s financial independence.
She has a particular interest in the intersectionality of disability, gender, and culture in the access to health, education, and safety — and how organisations can respond in meaningful, measurable ways.
Esperanza holds a Bachelor of Behavioural Science and a Master of Applied Social Research from Monash University in Melbourne. She has completed various certificates including Social Return on Investment (SROI), Social Impact Measurement, and Project Management. She is a member of the Australian Evaluation Society and SIMNA.
